Celebrate National Indigenous People’s Day early with this family-friendly performance. Based on the award-winning children’s book Sema´:th X_o´:tsa: Sts’o´lemeqwelh Sx_o´:tsa / Great-Gramma’s Lake (published by The Reach in 2020), the story follows a young boy and his grandmother as she shares memories of the abundant wildlife that once inhabited the lake. Working with professional puppeteer Tamara Unroe and drama educator Ana Horner, eight students from Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts (ASIA) – Sumas Mountain immersed themselves in the story of Sema´:th X_o´:tsa (Sumas Lake) to develop this spectacular performance using three larger-than-life illuminated puppets. Don't miss this unique event based on local history!
