A legal overview of WorkSafeBC, Health & Safety Guidelines and Bringing Workers Back
Join us for a presentation on legal issues around businesses starting back up. Topics will include:
- Occupational health and safety issues in light of WorkSafeBC's new guidelines - Updating workplace policies to comply with WorkSafeBC - Considerations for bringing workers back - Use of the CEWS (Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy) - Issues arising from continued temporary layoffs and/or termination of employees

Chris Drinovz is an experienced employment and labour lawyer and the head of the Employment & Labour Group at Kane Shannon Weiler LLP in Abbotsford. Chris has been assisting local businesses with workplace issues since 2010. His expertise covers all facets of the workplace including wrongful dismissal, employment contracts, workplace policies, and WorkSafeBC matters, including occupational health and safety. Chris is on the Executive of the Employment Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association. He is also on the Policy Review Committee for the BC Chamber of Commerce.

Jessie Ramsay was born in New Westminster but grew up in Chilliwack, BC. Upon completion of secondary school, Jessie attended the University of British Columbia (UBC) and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 2011 majoring in psychology and minoring in First Nations studies.
Jessie continued her studies at UBC upon her acceptance into the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Throughout her time at law school Jessie held several executive positions within the Law Students' Society and the Indigenous Law Students' Association. During her last semester of law school Jessie participated in the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic located within Vancouver's downtown east side. Jessie graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2014.
Jessie completed her summer and full-time articles with Baker Newby LLP, joined them as an Associate upon her call in 2015 and joined the partnership July 1, 2019. Her main practice areas are Family Law, Civil Litigation including Employment Law and Indigenous Law.
