Mark Poweska was appointed BC Hydro's Senior Vice-President, Training, Development and Generation in December 2015. Since joining BC Hydro in 1993, he has worked in many different parts of the organization including engineering, construction, procurement and operations.

Mark leads the team responsible for the asset management, maintenance and operations of BC Hydro's 33 integrated generating facilities located throughout the British Columbia. These facilities include 30 hydroelectric generating stations, two gas-fired thermal power plants and one combustion turbine station with a total installed generating capacity of 12,538 megawatts, and an average annual energy production between 43,000 and 56,000 gigawatt hours. He and his team work closely with diverse stakeholders to ensure BC Hydro's operations safely and effectively meet the energy needs of the province.

Mark is a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C.
