Zach was born and raised in the Yukon Territory and, in 2008, became the first male Summer Olympian to come from the territory. He has competed in three Commonwealth Games, earned a bronze medal at the 2010 Games in Delhi, India and has been a member of two Olympic teams.
Outside of competition, Zach is the founder of the Northern LYTES (Linking Youth To Elite Sport), an organization that brings Olympians to northern communities to participate in inspirational and developmental work with youth.
